This class is perfect for beginners with no previous dance experience. If you have never taken a salsa class before, this is the ideal starting point for you.

Salsa is one of the most popular and energetic Latin dances performed in New York City. Salsa music initially originated in Cuba and was popularized throughout Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. Today, with all the Latin rhythms combined from different Caribbean and South American countries, Salsa music has evolved into today's vibrant modern sound. Salsa dancing in New York, also known as Salsa ON2, is danced in a forward and back motion with a partner. This fun and exciting dance incorporates various steps, intricate partner work, styling techniques, spinning, and attitude.

In the class, you will learn new and fun moves each week and will develop confidence in how to move your body to the exciting rhythms of Salsa music.

Important Note: No dance partner is needed for any class. You will rotate with all other students, giving everyone equal practice time with different partners.
