Description
Class Level: Beginner
Age Requirements: 18 and older
Average Class Size: 8
Teacher: Mama Donna Henes

What you'll learn in this unique class:

Learn the basics about the tarot from Donna Henes, New York City's acclaimed Urban Shaman. This popular spiritual teacher and advisor will show you how to connect with your inner wisdom to do simple readings for yourself and others.

Join Donna in her Park Slope spirit center and learn the secrets of tarot reading in this hands-on workshop. She explains how the tarot is organized, how to choose and care for your own deck, and how to begin interpreting the cards. Donna helps you to tap into your natural intuitive ability and use it to understand the meanings of the cards. The class culminates in a mini reading for each participant.

"Henes is the real deal—prepare to leave with a newfound appreciation for the occult." -Time Out New York

Donna Henes is an internationally renowned urban shaman, spiritual teacher and counselor who has been reading and teaching tarot for 30 years. An award-winning author, she has published four books and writes for The Huffington Post. Her joyful celebrations of celestial events have introduced ancient traditional rituals and contemporary ceremonies to the people of New York City--and the world--since 1972, earning her both a Mayoral citation and the title of "unofficial commissioner of the public spirit of New York.” from The New Yorker.

A deck of tarot cards is required for the experience. If you don't have one, do not run out and buy one! Donna’s preferred deck for beginners will be available to purchase at the class.

This class is required for further tarot study with Donna.

Student's below 18 years old should be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Mama Donna is such a warm, welcoming human. She made us feel at home right away. She shared her knowledge of the Tarot in an easygoing, gentle way. She gave a new perspective on how to interpret the cards and stressed the importance of using one's own intuition to guide their readings. Her little dog, Poppy was amazingly calm but perked up at times, adding a little spark to the positive energy of the circle. -J
