Tween Theatre Production and Performance Camp (Ages 10-13)

Our 1-Week Theatre Production and Performance Camp gives students a full creative experience that spans every aspect of stagecraft:

• Writing
• Acting
• Directing

Over the course of the week, students will write, direct, and perform in their own original short plays, taking complete ownership of the creative process from concept to curtain call.

These camps are designed to be repeated across multiple sessions, as students work with different material and encounter new acting tools each time. In our tween camps, students observe their classmates' work and offer objective feedback on what changed or shifted after a given direction. Developing this observational skill is central to understanding The Barrow Group's approach.

This class introduces students to our specific approach to storytelling and gives them the same tools used by adult professional actors in TBG's program. We believe acting is fundamentally about play, and that students learn most effectively in an atmosphere built on relaxed, positive reinforcement.

What distinguishes The Barrow Group School from many other studios in New York City is that every teacher has completed our intensive teacher training program, meaning your child works with someone who has trained for years in our specific approach.
