Description

Our one-week Teen Theatre Design and Production Intensive offers a comprehensive introduction to the craft and business of bringing a production to life behind the scenes. Areas of exploration include:

  • Stage Management
  • Set Design
  • Sound Design
  • Lighting Design
  • Board Operation

Students will investigate the fundamentals of theatre design and production through a combination of lectures, demonstrations, and direct hands-on experience. Participants will have the opportunity to apply their skills in a real professional context by stage managing, designing, and operating the board for the culminating performances of the Teen Acting and Musical Theatre Intensives, staged in the TBG Studio Theatre.

No prerequisites or audition are required for this intensive.

Daily Schedule:

  • 10:00 am to 1:00 pm: Class
  • 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm: Lunch break
  • 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm: Class

During the lunch break, teen students ages 14 to 18 have the option to remain at TBG or leave with parent approval.

A full intensive syllabus and any additional details will be sent two to three weeks before the start date.

This intensive introduces students to The Barrow Group's specific approach to storytelling in a production context, providing access to the same conceptual tools that professional adult artists work with. Students observe their peers at work and offer objective feedback based on what shifted after an adjustment was made, an essential part of the learning process in The Barrow Group's method.

Refund Policy

All payments are non-refundable (unless the school cancels the class). 

Commitment is for the duration of the session. There are no credits or refunds for individual missed classes. If you discontinue any class before the ending date of the session, you forfeit your fee.

  • If you need to cancel a full class session (the full 6, 8, or 10 week class) for any reason, you must notify us by email at [email protected] at least 8 business days before the registered class start date, and we will apply a credit to your account for a future class. Credits are valid for one-year.
  • If a student wishes to transfer to a different class, they must notify us by email at [email protected] at least 8 business days before the first day of the registered class. No transfers will be allowed after this.

A student may not transfer to a different class once a class has begun.

The school reserve the right to change teachers at any time.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
