Children's Musical Theatre Camp (Ages 6-7)

Our one-week Children's Explorations in Musical Theatre Camp is a joyful introduction to the performing arts that blends storytelling, singing, and collaborative play into an unforgettable week of creative work. Students explore the foundational elements of musical theatre by working together as an ensemble on a complete musical. Each session focuses on a different production such as The Wizard of Oz, Annie, The Lion King, or another beloved title, giving returning campers a fresh experience every time they attend.

Throughout the week, students develop acting and performance skills through scene work drawn directly from the featured musical, build vocal technique and confidence with the support of a professional accompanist, and discover the fundamentals of improvisation and storytelling in a relaxed and encouraging environment. The camp culminates in an open class performance where family and friends are invited to celebrate what the ensemble has created together.

Our teaching approach is grounded in the belief that to act is to play, and that children grow most as artists and communicators in an atmosphere of genuine positive reinforcement and relaxed creative exploration. This camp introduces young students to the same core tools and methodology that our adult professional actors work with at The Barrow Group.

The Barrow Group School stands apart from many NYC performing arts studios because every teacher on our faculty has completed a rigorous, multi-year teacher training program in our specific approach. When your child works with a Barrow Group instructor, they are learning from someone who has studied and practiced this methodology for years.
