What you'll learn in this whiskey class:

Our full day’s course is an intense and interactive experience. The Whisky Ambassador is an Industry standard qualification, which means when delegates pass our exam, they’ll be able to display the prestigious ‘The Whisky Ambassador’ BIIAB accredited certificate, and will receive their unique badge identifying them as a whisky ambassador.

For Whom

  • Bar owners: Gain a refined knowledge on whisky, allowing to uplift in sales, increased customer satisfaction.
  • Bartenders and Liquor store professionals: Gain a knowledge that will increase the customer service, counseling possibilities and uplift sales.
  • Whisky enthusiasts: Willing to gain a solid knowledge on whisky, in order to enjoy more and better the experience with the spirit.

Based on his wide international experience, Franck, Whisky Ambassador Tutor and IBD* certified, will guide you in a journey that will give you the opportunity to learn whisky in a unique way.

You will receive a pre-read material in advance. Please ensure you go through it prior the training. You will get more out of the session and you will increase your chances of succeeding.

The Whisky Ambassador course covers:

  • Enjoying whisky, principles
  • Whisky by numbers, history, geography
  • Production from raw material to bottle
  • Whisky diversity, business approach
  • Whiskey and Food Pairing: Principles
  • Nosing and tasting principles – practice on 6 single malt whiskies
  • Mixers and cocktails
  • Focus on the whiskies of the world:
    • Bourbon
    • Tennessee
    • American single malt
    • Irish
    • Japanese
    • Taiwanese
    • Indian
    • European
  • Principles of refining your whisky offer
  • TEST

During the course of the day, you will have an initiation to food and whisky pairing; you will discover the immense possibilities that such combination can offer when it is well crafted.

At the end of the course there is a 30-question multiple choice exam and a practical tasting test on four whiskies. The delegate’s tests are sent to Scotland for grading, and certificates are issued in case of success. Successful delegates receive also a lapel badge.
