  This is a fabulous fun activity with a master milliner. Lisa is so talented and knowledgable, and will soon have you creating a beautiful custom fascinator. She is an excellent teacher and takes time to explain things and listen to what you as a client want. She also is a very kind lady. I went home with a beautiful fascinator and happy memories.   I got the opportunity to work on fascinator with Lisa on a short course. She giving me the opportunity to learn so quickly the basis of fascinator construction with mesh fabric. Lisa is good on listening your own style or desire which is a good point to get a hat that looks like you and nobody else. She also gave me good addresses for hat suppliers . I recommend warmly anybody who wants to dive into a first experience of hat making. It was a blast !

  I love this shop! Not only do I own numerous hats from here, but I have also attended many workshops on millinery construction that have been so helpful in my work as a costume designer. The workshops are small so the individual attention is great! Some are taught by the talented shop owner, Julia Knox, and some are taught by guest milliners from all over the world. If you get a chance to attend the workshops, you won't be disappointed! It will also make you appreciate the amount of work that goes into making a custom hat versus the price.

  The class was so much fun! I didn't come in with a specific idea and Julia helped me come up with a fabulous design. There are so many great trims and supplies to choose from! She even stayed late to help us all finish our fascinators. We all left with a really great piece and everyone's was so unique. I hope to take more classes here soon.

  I wanted a fun NYC activity to share with my visiting mom, and Julia's draping class was it! We left wearing two beautiful, professional-looking hats, and we gained great insight into what goes into the craft itself. The class size is small, and everyone receives personalized attention, so don't worry if you have trouble with a technique or need a second opinion. Julia is so helpful and shares her best tips and millinery knowledge with everyone. The class is set up around a single table for easy communication with your fellow participants as well, so you might even meet another hat-loving friend in this two day workshop. Highly recommended!

  I planned a trip to NYC to take this class, and I'm so glad I did! Julia enthusiastically (and patiently!) shared her knowledge and expertise. It was so much fun to see the different creations participants came up with using the same materials and instructions--every hat was truly custom. I left the workshop with two cute hats and the inspiration, skills and information I need to make more.

  This class was incredible! Julia went above and beyond to make sure that all of the students walked out of the class with a beautiful fascinator tailored to their individual tastes. In fact, she stayed nearly an hour late to help put the finishing touches on the fascinators so they looked professional.   This class was great for getting started in Millinery, it would have been better if it was for 3 days as we didn't get to finish our hats in the 2 lessons. Our teacher was knowledgable and was helpful with our designs. I would probably enrol to study this further next year.

  Holly is a great teacher for workshops. She has a nice intimate space that helps her guide students one on one and she has a studio that's very well stocked for students. I've taken multiple classes with her and even though I already know a lot about millinery, it's a great environment to practice in and well worth the price. The only negative I'd have to say is that she toots her own horn a lot, but in this business you have to market yourself at any moment. If you have friends looking for bridal pieces or just want a cute headpiece to compliment your wardrobe, don't hesitate to visit Artikal or take one of Holly's group classes!

  Loved it. The professor was a professional, animated, organized and sincerely happy to be teaching her craft. Also loved that I was taking the class at FIT campus. Want to take another class that teaches how to make a brimed hat. Hopefully they will add another one this summer. Can't wait! Thanks Coursehourse!

  Holly was a great teacher! She let students do most of their own work so we'd learn how the process worked and helped us when necessary. She explained everything completely and gave us good tips. I made a great hat that I got complemented on 30 minutes after I was done with the class! I'd highly encourage anyone to take a class with her.
