What you'll learn in this dye class:
In this 6 hour workshop led by textile designer Maria Romero, you’ll gain an understanding of how to work with natural dyes.
This workshop will cover:
Each participant will leave with naturally dyed fiber and item TBA.
Please bring clothes that you can get messy in.No previous dyeing knowledge necessary. Materials cost included in course admission.
This workshop will cover:
- Introduction to natural dye plants and mordants
- Introduction to protein-based and cellulose-based fibers
- Overview of natural dyestuff including onion skins, cochineal, turmeric, avocado skins & pits, fresh and dried flowers and more.
- How to shibori dye on yarn, including how to prepare the fibers, extract color from the dyestuff.
Each participant will leave with naturally dyed fiber and item TBA.
Please bring clothes that you can get messy in.No previous dyeing knowledge necessary. Materials cost included in course admission.
Refund Policy
If you need to cancel your class let us know at least 4 business days before the date of your class, we can refund you minus a $30 cancellation fee. Any cancellation after will not be eligible for a refund.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
