Beginner Brush Lettering

Watercolor brush lettering is a super hot look this year, and in this workshop you’ll learn beginner basics that will set you on your way to learning to letter everything from art pieces to fancy invites.

In this beginner-level class, your instructor Erica Tighe will begin by walking you through the basics of hand lettering while guiding you towards developing your own personal lettering style. Then, you’ll move on to the specifics of brush lettering using a paint brush and watercolor, to achieve the dreamy, watery, multi-hued look that is the signature of this technique.

This course will focus on both learning and practicing—after all practice makes perfect. You will learn how to mix colors and manipulate the paintbrush for different scripts. Erica will be on hand to give you personalized attention & trouble shoot any difficulties. Once you are comfortable with your lettering, Erica will teach basics of design layout and you can create your own final piece to take home and display proudly in your home, or gift to a friend.
