What you'll learn in this portrait class:
We are thrilled to offer this 3 SESSION Digital Portrait Painting class with artist and illustrator Hyoung Kim on a private floor at The Microsoft Flagship Store.
All students are provided a Microsoft Surface Pro 4 with a full version of Photoshop installed to be used during classes!
This class meets on September 20th, 27th and October 4th. (The fee includes all three sessions)
We work from a live model.
Session 1: Basics of Photoshop Drawing
+ Brief presentation on portrait painting
+ Teaching the tools (or a review to some students) used for this session.
+ Portrait drawing from the live model
+ Lecture on value
+ Review and critique
Optional: Homework assignment
Session 2: Refined Value and Edges
+ Briefly review the drawings from last week
+ A lecture on value and edges
+ Portrait drawing from the live model
+ Review and critique
Optional: Homework assignment
Session 3: Coloring and Finish
+ Briefly review the black and white value drawing from last week
+ Teaching the tools used for this session
+ A painting demonstration of how the tools work and working your way around to color flesh tone (glazing method)
+ Portrait painting from the live model
+ Review and critique
Requirements for Class:
Must have basic knowledge using computers (how to open Photoshop, manage your files with no hesitation and saving your files correctly).
Must know at least the very basics of using Photoshop, how to access tools and their basic use.
