Painting (All Levels)
Leo, the instructor, is world class! If you’re looking for excellent instruction, this class is for you! There are a few tips that will help you prepare for the class: - Be realistic. You may or may not actually get to paint. Everyone starts off by spending several classes drawing with pencil. The instructor decides when you’re ready to graduate to paint (which, if you’re not great at drawing, may be never!) - The materials list on Course horse is incorrect!!!! Don’t go out and spend $150 on painting supplies like I did! You won’t use any of them! - Be proactive! Don’t expect the school to reach out to you. Email the school directly to request a materials. The school will eventually send emails, but it’ll sometimes be just hours before your class. -

Anatomy for Illustrators and Cartoonists
Josh is a very good teacher. I think this class would be challenging for beginners, however. -
Anatomy for Illustrators and Cartoonists
Great class, great teacher. Very chill classes. Great therapy for the middle of stressful work weeks. :) Josh teaches a few techniques each night with a few handouts to help you, then you get to work on your new skills. Josh comes around and gives you one on one feedback. I'm going to sign up for another class of his. -
Anatomy and Artistry for Figure Drawing
Great instructor!! -
Classic Charcoal Drawing: Anatomy
I've taken another introduction to charcoal class taught by the same teacher and they were both equally amazing. This class was slightly more challenging since it involved more anatomy and less figurative drawing. Even as a practicing artist, I leaned a lot and took away a lot from the class. This class, and teacher, come highly recommend. Even as a bigger or someone who's well versed in the arts, you'll never feel excluded and always leave with at least one amazing new piece. -
Classic Charcoal Drawing: Anatomy
Elysa Lozano is a great teacher. She is very knowledgable and enthusiastic. She has great energy. She accommodates different styles and needs. Most importantly, in the Charcoal Drawing classes, she lets everyone explore freely with just the right amount of analysis. The Brainery is a great space.
