In this information-packed workshop, we walk you through everything you need to know about crafting the perfect gag cartoon, from brainstorming ideas to writing the caption to perfecting your visual style.

Whether you want to become a professional cartoonist or stretch your joke-writing muscles in a new direction, this class is for you. Our goal is for you to walk away armed with all the tools you need to submit cartoons to The New Yorker yourself (we’ll also explain how you can do that).

All materials are included.

No refund unless the school cancels the class.

No refund or credit for missed sessions (No Exceptions).

No credits unless notified 48 hours ahead of the class.

We do honor change-of-date requests for in-person sketch classes with at least 5 business days' notice and for workshops with 8 business days' notice.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

Lots of fun! Great way to spend an evening: supportive atmosphere, and a crash course in how to look at one-panel cartoons. Very much open to beginners, just as much fun for people with experience.
