Such a great class and worth every penny! It was hands on and we even had a chance to work out in the field. The instructor was patient and very knowledgeable. I would totally take another class with DCTV.

The instructor was great and answered all the questions the class asked him. And I learned about the fundamentals to the camera, equipment use, and after we shot, I got tips on how to make the film better. Definitely would recommend.

I really enjoyed this class. There was ample opportunity for questions, while still keeping the class moving. We reviewed and refreshed on a lot of camera basics throughout (which was really helpful), and then used those factors to maximize our video/film capabilities with DSLR.

I have taken and am enrolled in a series of DCTV's courses currently. This is what troubled me-Camera Fundamentals is a prerequisite WHY when the HVX is the camera that is used in that class. If this is your first time using a DSLR camera as it was mine, there isn't enough time built in to the 2days to learn the camera menus. That impacted my learning in the course. There is ZERO relationship between Camera Fundamentals and this class. I wanted to take that course as a separate matter but feel like they were getting over making it a useless requirement. The teacher was informative but this one needs better structure. I'm going to look at DCTV with a more critical eye now.

The class was really detailed and comprehensive considering it was just two days. Josh Koury did a great job answering questions and tailored the class to suit our needs.

Question from Mustapha j.
HI. I have a Canon 80D, is the setup similar to 5D and 7D? Thank you. Mustapha Jaffar
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse Staff
Hi Mustapha! The instructor said she is not familiar with that Canon model, but that you could reach out to B&H or Adorama or do a Google search to learn more about the differences. Canon cameras tend to have similar menus, this one is a DLSR, she imagines there are different features and it's different sensor size, but would be similar. Hope this helps.

Question from Taylor
It seems like they provide cameras for this class-- is this going to specifically be a 5D mark iii or mark iv? Just want to know some specifics of which 5D it is. Thanks!
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse Staff
DCTV use the Canon 5d mark iii in Video DSLR if the student is specifically looking for training in that camera.
