This course teaches cinematographers how to effectively use DaVinci Resolve for on-set and near-set tasks, focusing on working with log or raw footage, applying LUTs, camera matching, transcoding, and batch processing for dailies and general deliverables.
Eager filmmakers, come forward for a comprehensive immersion in documentary storytelling! This in-depth workshop takes you through the pre-production, production, and post-production process. During week one, examine the documentary form by reviewing films, pitching your doc idea, creating a shot list and preparing for production. During week two, execute your concept and shoot your footage.
A complimentary one-week production equipment rental as well as instructor office hours are included. During week three, organize your footage and leave with a rough assembly or fine cut. This workshop culminates with an in-class rough cut screening and critique.
This is a Production and Post-Production workshop at the Extensions level, in which you create original work.
Topics include:
Duration: 36 hrs (+ optional office hrs)
Prerequisite(s):
Camera Fundamentals, Audio Fundamentals, and Video DSLR or equivalent experience is required. This is not a software-specific workshop. Fluency and the ability to work independently in one of the non-linear editing softwares listed in Materials below is also required.

Materials: Aside from a hard drive, we provide all equipment and are committed to a 2:1 student to camera ratio. Each student will be equipped with a 27-inch iMac with 5K retina display running Avid Media Composer 2018.12, Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2018, DaVinci Resolve 15, and Final Cut Pro X 10.4.4 Personal equipment is not permitted.

All DCTV Workshops have limited enrollment and require registration in advance.

If you register for a workshop and are unable to attend, we can offer the following compensation:
There are absolutely no make-ups allowed for any missed session(s) of a workshop. It is not possible for students to make up a missed session of their Workshop by attending an equivalent session on another day. There are no refunds for missed sessions.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
