Communication is a form of performance and body language takes a major role in projecting our expression for successful communication. From early childhood we are all taught to expand our verbal vocabulary but there is less emphasis on body language. It's time to expand our non-verbal vocabulary. Dr. Albert Mehrabian, Professor of Psychology at UCLA, conducted several studies on nonverbal communication. He found that 7% of any message is conveyed through words, 38% through volume and tone, and 55% through body language (facial expressions, gestures, posture, etc).
In this workshop you will learn what behavior leads to self confidence, how it is manifested in body language, and how to use it in life. You will also learn how dance can inspire and enhance your ability to engage your audience by using powerful body language while dancing on stage, teaching a class or simply living your everyday life.
To enhance your awareness of the self you will be led through exercises that embody openness using diverse gestures, dance movements and voice.
This workshop is open to all! Whether you are a female or male, performer, teacher or not. For ages 14 and up, don't miss the chance to gain tools that will help lead you to live a more joyful and complete life.
