Teen Improv and Sketch Comedy Intensive (Ages 14-18)

Our 1-Week Improv and Sketch Intensive explores:

• ensemble building
• improvisation games, techniques, and concepts in a fun, supportive environment. This class encourages students to become more spontaneous, creative, playful, and imaginative, all while developing valuable theater and interpersonal skills.
• sketch comedy by observing classic sketches, writing, and acting in original sketches.

This class teaches our specific approach to storytelling, and introduces students to the same tools that our adult professional actors work with. In our teen classes, students are asked to observe fellow classmates and give objective feedback based on what changed/what was different is crucial to the learning process and understanding of The Barrow Group approach.

What makes The Barrow Group different from many other studios in NYC is that all of our teachers have gone through an intensive teacher training program. So when your child takes a class with us, the teacher has trained for years at The Barrow Group in our specific approach.

Lunch break is 1-2pm. For the lunch break, teen students (ages 14-18) have the option to stay at TBG or leave TBG (with parent approval). More info and an intensive syllabus will be sent 2-3 weeks prior to the intensive start date.
