Dave was very patient and took time to explain each step thoroughly. Nobody lost a finger either and we got to take home a beautiful little table. I learned a lot.

I was a complete beginner and loved it. It was less of an uphill battle than i expected, I guess because Priscilla must be used to newbies. I can vouch for someone like me: curious and excited who needs someone to repeat things at least once when it comes to the table saw. I made a few mistakes but we corrected them and now i have an extra table.

This was a good class, but i would be lying if I wasn't a bit disappointed. Priscilla did not teach the class, and when the fill in teacher was busy one weekend they opted to push the whole class back a week making the end date July, 8th instead of July 1st. The fill in teacher is very nice and incredibly talented, but he runs the class very slowly which has caused us to fall behind schedule to the point where we may need to add on another week. I personally cannot dedicate another weekend to this class and I live and work in Queens, so I cannot travel there during the week. So with that said...if we do not complete the project during the 5th class I am unsure what I am suppose to do. Considering how expensive this class is, I think it's unacceptable. However, I have learned a lot, so I am happy with the knowledge I have gained, but I am disappointed with how the scheduling has been handled.

    Great class for beginners

This class was great! Priscilla was very patient and made sure we clearly understood before moving forward with any step. I had some experience with woodwork but nothing this fine and precise which was incredibly satisfying. She has a lot of great tools/machines and she's obviously excited to teach you about the capabilities of each. You learn a LOT in the few weeks of the course and feel empowered. For any makers our there who might have ideas for building things, this is a great class to take to learn everything you need to! Highly recommend it! (And it's a short walk from the Hoboken Path station, so coming from Brooklyn isn't bad at all.)

This furniture building was one of the most enjoyable and fulfilling things I did this year. Not only did I learn a ton about the the furniture making process, including the materials, tools, and processes involved, but I also met several interesting people from all over the NY/NJ area. Priscilla is an energetic and bright instructor and was able to fill all of our brains with knowledge and experience regardless of our technical ability going into the course. I would *highly* recommend this class to people of all creative/skill levels, and I look forward to taking more classes at The DIY Joint in the coming months!

Question from Joy S.
Why is the class with Priscilla only 5 sessions and Stephen's is 6 but they both cost the same? You get one less class with Priscilla - shouldn't it cost less or shouldn't you add a class? Also, the class with Stephen starts on a holiday.
Answer from Baran K. Verified Educator
Hi Joy!! Thanks so much for pointing that error out! That was definitely a mistake, the weekday sessions are 6 weeks long. I have updated the schedule on our website and alerted CourseHorse of the change. CourseHorse should have this up to date within a few days. Thanks again!
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse Staff
Hi Joy! We have updated Priscilla's class dates, thank you for catching that.
