Customize your Clothes - Intermediate Sewing Workshop

Ever wish you knew how to tailor your clothes to fit better? Or how to add a cellphone pocket inside your jacket? Or maybe you found a dress at a thrift store, but want to make it into a skirt instead. 

In this 2 day workshop, we’ll go over some simple ways to modify your clothes to your own size and style. Students should already have some machine sewing experience (the beginner workshop is a great place to start) to participate in this workshop. 

What to bring: 

Each student should bring several garments that they would like to modify even though we will likely not get to them all.
DO bring: clothing that is too large in one area or another, tops that you would like to change from long sleeve to short sleeve, clothing that need patches, pants or skirts that need a hem, etc. 

Please do NOT bring garments that are too small as these are either very advanced, or not possible to modify. Do NOT bring stretch garments- wovens only. Although you may bring jeans, they are fairly difficult to modify so make sure you have some other garments that will be easier to start with.

Note:

We are a working art studio and the student should always come dressed in clothes that can be dirtied, are comfortable and do not have hanging pieces or parts that can be caught in machinery.
