Learn how to block the proportions of the head and find someone's likeness through sculpture.
Day 1:
Begin with a demonstration of how to start a block in a sketch for a portrait during the first hour, followed by sculpting alongside the students.
Start a 3/4 life-sized portrait to assess everyone’s comfort level and familiarity with clay.
Day 2:
Once the block-in achieves a strong sense of likeness and proportion, introduce more delicate surface treatment or "skin-like" textures.
Demonstrate my preferred method while encouraging students to explore their own techniques.
