Class Description

Description

Join Jessica Campbell of Messy Jessy Ceramics for an exploration of marbling on the wheel. Jessy will share her approach to combining multiple clay bodies to create wheel thrown pieces with dynamic color, contrast, and pattern.

Through demonstrations and hands on practice, you’ll learn how to choose clay bodies that work well together, taking compatibility, texture, and shrinkage into consideration. Jessy will demonstrate a variety of techniques for combining white, speckled, dark brown, and hazelnut clay, while sharing tips for preparing, throwing, and trimming marbled forms.

This workshop balances technical instruction with creative exploration, giving you space to experiment and bring new possibilities into your making process.

Participants should have previous wheel experience and be comfortable throwing a consistent four inch cylinder.

The workshop also includes one 2.5 hour open studio session to return and trim your work.

Please note that firing fees are not included.
