What you'll learn in this pottery wheel class:

Beginners will learn the basic skills of throwing on the potter’s wheel and glazing techniques. Intermediate students will work on individual projects to further develop their skills and unique personal expression. 

Demos and critiques will be given regularly.

As someone who has never taken a pottery class before, will this assume a certain knowledge base or is this truly a beginner course?

Hi there! It is for brand new beginners but our classes often have people at different levels so it is unlikely that all class participants will be beginners.

Hi there! Thanks for your question. ArtWorks at West Side YMCA has open studio hours both during the week and on weekends as long as there isn't a class in the wheel room. Hope this helps!

Hi Jessica! The clay is included but there is a glazing/firing fee for pieces you want to keep it at 4 cents per cubic inch.
