Question from anonymous
Would you recommend this class as a propaedeutic for painting?
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Hi there! Yes, the school would recommend this class as a preliminary for painting and also Cast Drawing because the better you understand how to draw in general, the easier and more successful you will find painting or sculpture as well.
Answer from Brenda L. CourseHorse StaffCourseHorse Staff
Many early struggles for an artist begin with capturing form accurately in terms of its proportions, construction, contours, balance, and understanding the mechanics of light and shadow...all of which are addressed through drawing and the confidence that it builds. Drawing is considered the foundation for anything else that you wish to learn in visual arts. These are skills which are then transferred or carried over to painting.
