Attended: Pie and Tart Boot Camp

I enjoyed this class just like the first time I took it and look forward to taking more courses. I wish you would consider having classes on using kitchen tools, such as pressure cookers food processors, slow cookers and etc. I know you get a booklet with your equipment, but I think it would be easier if you could go to a class and learn to use the equipment properly with guidance, and be more secure in what you are doing. Thanks again

Attended: Culinary Boot Camp 1

I completed the one-week Culinary Boot Camp 1 in May 2015 and had an absolute blast. Though I don't have many years of cooking experience, I knew this was a skill I wanted to improve on this summer. The 40-hour intensive was a perfect way to delve into culinary school. Food and cooking had always been important to me, and this experience has truly changed my life. From Knife Skills to flavoring to food presentation, I've learned an incredible amount of information in such a short time. My class was 6 students, and we had 2 chefs per day instructing us. Everything was hands-on, and all of the food we created was ours to eat and share! I came from Ohio especially for this course, and thought I'd be the only one traveling from far. Turns out I was actually closer to Chicago than those traveling from New York, Texas and Wisconsin! No matter where you're coming from, it's definitely worth your while. I never thought I'd be able to master a Chocolate Souffl̩ until now. I can't wait to cook for my friends and family. A huge thanks to The Chopping Block for an unforgettable experience.

Honestly I don’t think this class is very useful. I debated taking it for a while but it got such a good rating so I thought it must be good. The first hour was a pretty tedious lecture about knife history...types of knives...countries that manufacture them. Then came the hands on stuff which was still disappointing. I wouldn’t recommend it because I feel like you could take away the same information from a couple of YouTube videos.

Attended: Sushi Workshop

Loved what I saw and learned. Could have been a bit more brisk in pace to learn and/or practice more. Two points about the order and layout of the class. By the time we were able to enjoy what we made, the rice had already started to dry out and I did not enjoy eating it. And, if I would have sampled my first roll before moving on to making the inside out roll, I would have used far less rice. I got a thumbs up from Jason, but both rolls had way too much rice. Lastly, I felt that we quickly ran out of the really good ingredients: spicy tuna, salmon and radish. Vasilios Smith

Attended: Sushi Workshop

The class was very informative. I think it would be better if we ate each sushi roll immediately after they were made, instead of waiting till the end because the rice gets a little hard.
