This is a hands-on brewing class for beginners. You and one partner will brew 5 gallons (48 bottles) of a beer together using our equipment. After the first session the beer will stay with us as it ferments. 3-4 weeks later you will schedule an appointment to come bottle your beer and take it home with you.

- Payment is required in advance for all of classes because of the amount of work that goes into preparing for them.
- The cost of class is $125.00 per couple per 5 Gal batch, plus the cost of ingredients ($45-$65). Additional costs may include bottles, bottle caps, labels (optional), flavoring additions.
Brewing List of beer Styles:
- Red Ale - A bit sweet, with a lightly hopped tea-like flavor, and an even dextrinous body, Irish Red Ales are easy to please. Look for well-rounded and blanced flavors, and a pleasant toasted malt character in many examples. A drying finish is common 5-6% ABV. (Killians)
- Porter - mild to dark brown (may have a red tint) in color. Porters range in flavor from bitter to sweet. The dark color comes from the use of black or roasted malt rather than the roast barley feature of stouts. The roast malt flavor and aroma character should be evident and can vary from an assertively strong (but not stringent) character to suggestively mild. This is a medium-bodied beer 5-6% ABV
- Pale Ale - American Pale Ales range from golden to lights copper colored. The style is characterized by American variety hops used to produce high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma. Dry hopping is appropriate. These beers are slightly less malty than their British counterparts. American Pale Ales have medium body and low to medium maltiness. Low caramel character is allowable 5-6% ABV (Sierra Nevada)
- Kolsch - characterized by a golden color and slightly dry, winey and subtly sweet palate. Caramel character should not be evident. The body is light. This beer has low hop flavor and aroma with medium bitterness 5-6%ABV. (Metropolitan Krankshaft)
- Stout - Dry Stouts have an initial malt and caramel flavor profile with a distinctive dry-roasted bitterness in the finish. Some slight acidity may be perceived but is not necessary. Hop aroma and flavor should not be perceived. Dry stouts have medium body. Fruity esters are minimal and overshadowed by malt, hop bitterness and roasted barley character 5-6%ABV. (Guinness)
- Hefeweizen - A south German style of wheat beer (weissbier).A yeast that produces a unique phenolic flavors of banana and cloves with an often dry and tart edge, some spiciness, bubblegum or notes of apples. Little hop bitterness, and a moderate level of alcohol 5-6%ABV. (Franziskaner, Paulaner)
- Brown Ale - English Brown Ales range from deep copper to brown in color. They have a medium body, and a dry to sweet maltiness dominates with very little hop flavor or aroma 5-6%ABV. (Newcastle)
- Blonde Ale - Golden Ales and Canadian-style Ales are a straw to golden blonde variation of the classic American-style Pale Ale. However, Golden Ale more closely approximates a lager in its crisp, dry palate, low (but noticeable) hop floral aroma and light body 5-6%ABV.
- Belgian Wit - The best emit the aroma of Cyracao orange peel, coriander and other spices augmenting the hops. These flavors work well with the use of unmalted wheat to make these beers.They typically have a full yellow-white color, with a pale, dense head 5-6% ABV (Hoegaarden, Blue Moon)
- Amber Ale - American Amber Ales range from light copper to light brown in color. Amber Ales are characterized by American varietal hops and to some connoisseurs should be used to produce high hop bitterness, flavor and aroma.They should have medium body 5-6%ABV (Fat Tire)
- IPA - The style is marked by very high hop bitterness and high alcohol content. The high gravity of this beer allowed it to mature during the voyage. The intense hops helped preserve the beer. A high hopping rate and the use of water with a high mineral content results in a crisp, dry beer 5.5-6.5% ABV (Two Hearted, Torpedo)
- Imperial Stout - Dark color to very black., Imperial Stouts typically have alcohol levels exceeding 8%. The extremely rich malty flavor and aroma is balanced with assertive hopping and fruity ester characteristics. Perceived bitterness can be moderate and balanced with malt character to very high in the darker versions 7-8%ABV.
- Imperial IPA - you should expect something robust, malty, alcoholic and with a hop profile that might rip your tongue out 7-8%ABV
- Belgian Tripel - Tripels are often characterized by a spicy, phenolic clove flavor. A banana fruity ester is also common. These pale/light-colored ales usually finish sweet. The beer is characteristically medium- to full-bodied with a neutral hop/malt balance 8-9% ABV. (Westmalle, Golden Monkey)
- Belgian Saison - Saisons are crisp, tart beers made for the summer season and have a characteristic orange color and refreshing carbonation. They are hoppy with citric notes and fruity flavors and are excellent with food 7-8% ABV (Saison DuPont)
