In his own estimation, Matt Munisteri is "among a tiny handful of the very best swing rhythm guitarists working". As far as lifetime achievements are concerned, this is somewhere between having successfully registered to vote, and having never lost a mitten. Matt can play some lead guitar, and he does sing, and has written songs, but let's be honest; none of these skills actually pay his rent. In the estimation of the IRS, The Professor has earned, literally, hundreds of thousands of dollars simply by strumming just 4 or 5 rudimentary chord shapes - shapes which often contain just two notes! Simple arithmetic shows that this works out to tens of thousands of dollars per note. With a bumper crop of thousands of competing Djypsy Djazz rhythm guitarists now suddenly dotting the musical landscape you'd think Il Professore would fear for his livelihood.
