Alan Gorkin

Teaches at Brooklyn Botanic Garden

While attending Michigan State University and getting his degree in Horticulture, Gorkin's first course was woody plant culture and identification and a professor asked him after the course to assist in teaching the laboratory to other undergraduates. This became a life long love of teaching others about plants, and further encouraged Gorkin in the field of plants. He later became Plant propagator at BBG and continued expanding his knowledge of growing plants.
