Our experienced instructor provides practical, hands-on instruction to guide you through database structure fundamentals and strengthen your ability to create actual SQL code.
You will become proficient in creating SELECT statements to specify desired fields from source tables, apply filtering using WHERE, AND, OR, IN, and NOT operators. You will discover how to implement pattern-based searching along with numerical operations like equivalence, greater than, less than, and similar comparisons to obtain precisely the data you need. Additionally, you will understand how to integrate information from separate tables utilizing INNER JOIN operations.
By completing this practical introductory program, you will be equipped to construct elementary SQL queries specific to Microsoft SQL Server. You will employ the free Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio interface to navigate databases and run your SQL queries. Your learning in SQL Server will transfer to other SQL systems (such as Microsoft Access, PostgreSQL, MySQL) with only minor language variation.
