What you'll learn in this unified communications manager training:
In the past two years, Cisco has made a concerted effort to move many of its applications from dedicated servers to a virtual environment. This five day training event is intended for individuals who are interested in learning the fundamentals of supporting UC applications in a UCS virtualized environment. The course will cover both the Unified Computing System B Series servers and the stand alone C Series servers.
The four main areas of study will be system preparation (B series and C series), ESXi deployment, Unified Communications applications in ESXi, and the Nexus 1000v virtual Ethernet switch. While this course is written with Unified Communications as its focus, anyone with a desire to learn the fundamentals of these topics would benefit from this course.
Objectives
Upon completing this course, the learner will be able to meet these overall objectives:
To get the most out of this course, all students are expected to be trained and experienced on Ciscos Unified Communications products. Non-UC students can gain much from this class but they may be a little lost in the dedicated UC chapters. The UC specific content is approximately 20%. All other content also applies to non UC implementations of the UCS and C-series servers.

Individuals interested in, or responsible for, the installation, migration and management of Ciscos Unified Communications (UC) applications on a Unified Computing System (UCS) B-Series blade server or C-Series server platform running VMware.
Individuals seeking to learn the fundamentals of UCS, VMware ESXi and Nexus 1000v in 5 days will find this class useful.

UCS Servers include: 1) B-Series Servers managed by UCS Manager using SAN boot and SAN storage. 2) C-Series standalone Servers using local hard drive boot , storage on local drive and storage on SAN using iSCSI.
- Demonstrate VMware functions and features that complement the UC installation (e.g., vMotion)
- Install and configure the Cisco Nexus 1000V Switch to support the UC applications

Remote Learning
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.
Refund Policy
Cancellations and/or transfers with full refund will be allowed up to 10 full business days prior to the start date of the course. Cancellations and/or transfers must be submitted in writing, and would need to be received no later than the Friday before the Monday which is 10 business days prior to the start date.
For example, for a class that starts on Monday, 5/23/16, a request for cancellation/transfer must be received by Skyline no later than 5:00 PM PST on Friday, 5/6/16.
Cancellations and/or transfer notices received after 10 business days prior to the start day of a course are not permitted. If a student does not attend a class and the required notification was not provided, funds will be forfeited and a rescheduling of the course will not be allowed. Rescheduling of a class is only permitted anytime before 10 complete business days prior to the class start date.
