Wendy Block & Brad Gibson

Teaches at Long Beach Meditation

Wendy Block has been a licensed therapist for over 23 years and a long time practitioner of meditation. She integrates Mindfulness Based therapies into her practice. Wendy was exposed to meditation at a young age by her parents who were part of the Gurdjieff Ouspensky school in New York. She has studied meditation for thirty years with many different teachers from various traditions, including Vedanta, Advaita, and traditional yoga paths, in addition to Vipassana meditation. She joined Long Beach Meditation six years ago, and has been responsible for organizing community sits and programs for LBM. She utilizes Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy in her work as a therapist. She helps facilitate beginner programs at LBM. She has been in personal study of Buddhist principles with her teacher Victor Byrd for the past two years. In addition, she participates in the Dedicated Practitioner Program at Insight L.A. with Trudy Goodman. Brad Gibson has been studying Vipassana meditation since 1980. He has studied and attended meditation retreats with Jack Engler, Joseph Goldstein, Sharon Salzberg, as well as others. In addition, he studied many years in the Tibetan Mahamudra tradition with Ken McCleod. He is a high school teacher by profession and lives with his wife and daughter in Long Beach, California.
