What you'll learn in this film production class:

This seminar will take place in Los Angeles, California, and will be presented in partnership with 7EQUIS. 7EQUIS is a leading long form content creator in the digital space. They partner with top talent to create some of the most exciting online shows. From development to distribution to monetization, they know the game.

This one week bootcamp is a crash course on the process of pitching, developing, marketing, and presenting digital media content and how to become a Super-Producer.   Participants will gain a better understanding of critical skill sets from pitch to final edit.  Through the session you will have the opportunity to explore the technical side of the process camera, sound and lighting as you discuss, workshop, and present your pitch for a future show. 

This seminar will be presented in partnership with 7EQUIS and will include a panel Q&A with creators of programming along with a final pitch session with professional content producers that specialize in the field of Podcasting and New Media.  

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

PRE-PRODUCTION

  • Overview of current video landscape.     
  • What’s the landscape of media creation and formats?        
  • What is a super-producer and what’s expected of him/her?
  • Technology & Content         

PRODUCTION

  • Managing Talent
  • Discuss the latest equipment that is being used to make videos            
  • What’s happening right now in content creation - Who they are, how they’re shooting, and what they’re shooting with.

  • Capturing moments                            
  • Vlogging                                        
  • Gaming Vlogs                        
  • Beauty/lifestyle etc.
  • Capturing the importance of current events (and live!) and producing content around them.

Cameras 

  • Point and shoot, DSLRs, Digital Cinema Cameras                
  • Pros and cons of each type of camera                             

Lighting

  • Why lighting is important?
  • Lighting spaces where the event is happening and what effect it’s having on the audience and content creator. 
  • 3-point lighting. Lighting to help focus attention.                 
  • Creating a mood/look

  • Entertainment - Comedy vs. news vs. music        

Audio

  • Capturing clean audio/sound
  • Best practices: Consider your shooting environment

No Experience necessary to participate in the Digital Content Creation Boot Camp.  No additional expenses, beyond tuition, will be required.  All course materials will be provided.  Final Schedule, and Course Syllabus will be available prior to the start of the seminar.  Please note that the workshop begins on a Monday and ends on a Friday.  Classes begin promptly at 10:00 AM unless otherwise specified.

Refund Policy

We hope that students can attend the program that they have registered for but also understand that sometimes circumstances come up that prevent them from attending as planned. Given this, students who have paid for and cannot attend the class they have registered for must let us know 22 business days prior to the start of class in order to receive a full refund of any tuition they have paid minus the non-refundable registration fee. No refunds will be made to students who drop out after this time.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
