What you'll learn in this woodworking class:

Learn about the tools, materials and techniques needed for stretching your own painting canvas in this workshop. Making your own canvas widens up your options and makes your art unique. The quality is also better than store-bought canvases as they put little gesso possible which causes dry surface. Most importantly, it is CHEAPER when you build it on your own! We are going to stretch a small canvas in this workshop but also explain about how to apply the technique to building big canvases.

**We will demonstrate how to prime (gesso) canvas properly. You may gesso your own canvas during the workshop or at home depending on how much time we get left after stretching. We will provide gesso and containers to share if we get to prime canvas. That being said, please bring your own brushes for applying gesso to the workshop.

Beginners are welcome! All Ages OK! No previous experience required!

Refund Policy

Make-Up Policy: Students pre-pay all classes by the month or the quarter - it is a commitment that is made by the student and Kline Academy that insures your easel space will be held for you. If a student misses a class for whatever reason, and if a 24-hour notice was given to our office, as a courtesy, Kline Academy welcomes students to come to any other class while enrolled and if space is available, to do a "make- up." Make-ups are not owed to a student and have no monetary value, they are simply a courtesy extended by Kline Academy.

Please note you may only take a make-up class when you are enrolled for a least a month and may only be used within the dates you are enrolled. A make-up class may not be used in the class you are in or added on at the end of the session. Make-ups expire at the end of the year they were acquired in.

Refund Policy: We are not able to offer refunds for any class or workshop for any reason once they have been purchased. If you sign up for a class and need to miss some of the dates within the month you may be able to take advantage of our makeup policy (see above). Please note any changes made to enrollment may incur a $75 administrative fee.
