What you'll learn in this gardening class:

Grow a Fruit Tree Guild and begin enjoying fresh, delicious & nutritious fruits, vegetable and herbs from your own garden. Grow your favorite fruit - peaches, nectarines, pears, Asian pears, plums, cherries, apples, service berries, paw paws, or persimmons. Growing a fruit tree with companion plants minimizes maintenance, increases nutrition, and manages diseases and pests naturally.

Learn how plants work harmoniously to create a mini-ecosystem designed to be self-sustaining. In order to grow a fruit tree guild you will need a full sun location (6+ hours daily) with a minimum of 100 square feet (10'x10'). Most edible plants require full or partial sun to be productive, so we will focus on these plants only. This will be an information packed discussion, so bring a notebook and pencil. Handouts will be distributed.

Refund Policy
A full refund will be given for any classes that TRI cancels. For 2-3 hour classes a full refund will be given if a cancellation request is made up to 48 hours prior to the class. A refund for full day or weekend courses will be offered up to 1 week prior. Please email us at [email protected] to let us know of your cancellation request.

If you have registered for the class, do not show up, and do not communicate your absence prior to the class, then you will be charged the full class fee. Instructors are compensated for teaching so it is important that we respect their preparation and teaching time.

We are located on The Conservation Foundation's McDonald Farm in south Naperville. There is a long driveway on the north side of Knoch Knolls Road a 1/2 mile from Ring Road. Entrance to the parking area is to the right of the driveway just before the driveway circles.
