Teaches at The Newberry

European culture and literature, 17th through 19th centuries, especially 18th century. Narrative theory and the novel. Women writers. Women's studies, sexuality studies, lesbian studies. French Revolution: history and representation. Feminist thought.

My scholarship has been focused within three primary arenas: narrative theory and the novel, with a particular interest in women writers; eighteenth-century European studies; and gender and sexuality studies. I am currently pursuing projects in the history of sexuality, in representations of the French Revolution, and in Israeii-Palestinian narratives.
