At the end of this class, the students will learn the basics of hand printing.
Get creative while learning the basics of three unique printmaking processes: screenprinting, relief, and monoprinting. Fundamental techniques will be covered, including carving and printing linoleum blocks, exposing images to screens, printing with oil and water-based inks, and color mixing. Prints will be created both by hand and with a press.
We will also explore mashing up these different techniques to create wonderfully textured, layered images. Open to all, this is a great course for anyone interested in making beautiful prints by hand.
Some basic supplies will be required, but much of what you need will be provided by CPC. Material list provided prior to first class.
Note: Teens ages 15-17 may take the class either with a parent or with CPC permission.
Tuition is only refundable for group classes when CourseHorse is notified at least 6 business days prior to the session start date.
Either way, students are responsible for notifying CourseHorse that they wish to drop a class or workshop; not attending the first class does not constitute an official cancellation.
If you must drop a class within 6 business days of the first session, no refund or credit will be given (except in the event of documented medical reasons with a physician’s note or other extenuating circumstances).
The school does not offer makeup sessions for missed classes. However, if you must miss a class due to illness or extreme weather, the school will offer a complimentary work session once the course is complete and the student is confident with their skills.
