Jessica Pile

25 year old Jessica Jane Pile, originally from Kent, started at Hand & Lock in October 2011. Her training background was in Theatrical costume design and she studied at the famous Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

Since Joining Hand & Lock she has collaborated on major projects such as Louis Vuitton AW13 and a private commision for Gilbert & George.

Janika Mägi

Janika Mägi joined Hand & Lock in early 2014 and went on to work on some of our biggest recent commissions including pieces for Lord of the Dance and and Louis Vuitton. Born in Estonia in 1987, she started her career as a ballet dancer before graduating to costume and finally couture embroidery.

Amazing class! Jess and Janika were super tutors and brilliant at demonstrating techniques to each of us. There was a lot of time to practice after the practical demonstrations and we could always call on them to work one on one if needed. Tambour beading is a massive skill and I wish the course was much longer! I'm definitely doing this again!
