My earliest memories of practicing yoga are at 3 years old with my mother; crawling over, under, and around her poses. I am sure it was quite distracting for her, but for me it was a special introduction to a lifelong passion for yoga. I moved on to dance and gymnastics but after I was diagnosed with scoliosis and later endured painful leg surgery that left me wheelchair bound for 3 months, I returned to yoga out of necessity. Yoga was an integral part of my rehabilitation and realignment. From the deeper connection to the physical practice I made the decision to pursue an intensive study of yoga with the intent to share the knowledge. Immersing myself in the study of human anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and their expression through yoga has changed my life.

My teaching is rooted in a comprehensive kinesthetic knowledge and seasoned ability to recognize and guide students to find alignment, strength and grace. I find that using my intuition and trained ability to ‘read the body’ helps me individualize the practice even in a group class setting. Each unique class leads to the development of strength, length, awareness, and conscious movement. I offer every student, no matter their level, encouragement to challenge his or her body within a supported space. My studies are based mostly in Iyengar and Ashtanga, but not limited or restricted to either expression of the practice; I offer and understanding of the technical principals of alignment and the connection of breath and movement and meld them together into a vigorous and connected practice.
