What you'll learn in this travel photography class:

Whether you’re visiting a national park or your local nature preserve this summer, return home with rewarding photographs that tell the story of your experience.

Do your friends and family nod politely as you flip through the photos of your recent trip? Are you getting too few “likes” on Instagram or Facebook? Have you ever said, “The photos just don’t do it justice… you had to be there”?

Your photos can capture what it felt like to be there! In this class, you will learn to use photography to tell the true story of place--from the grand landscapes worthy of a postcard, to the vignettes that capture the the character and mood of the landscape. In this class, you will:
  • Create well-composed nature photographs
  • Look at the ways light can impact your photo
  • Develop an eye for artistry
  • Consider the foundational, creative decisions that good photographers make
  • With a mix of classroom and field shooting, you’ll have a chance to practice what you learn and get feedback and coaching from your instructor.
This class is suitable for anyone looking to take their photography to the next level. Bring your smartphone or your DSLR--the skills taught here will apply equally well to both types of camera.

Don’t just document your travels, capture the spirit of them!

Bring your fully charged DSLR camera; bring a tripod if you have one.
