Family Recipe Writing is a 2-part hands-on workshop dedicated to the art of writing and testing your family recipes! Whether you want to preserve cherished culinary traditions or edit your family cookbook, this workshop is designed for participants of all skill levels. How many times have you tried your mother's recipe to find it just doesn't come out the same way, or it's missing a step, or an ingredient? Maybe you phone her six times while making it to clarify the procedure?
Through collaborative discussions, reviewing writing samples, and recipe testing, you will learn the essential components and structure of a proper recipe. You’ll gain insights on how to provide clear instructions so that your grandchildren can easily reproduce your signature dishes. We will cover vital writing techniques, including ingredient measurements, cooking methods, and tips for enhancing clarity. Additionally, we’ll discuss how to document family stories and memories associated with your recipes, making them even more special.
But writing the recipe is only the beginning! You will also have the opportunity to test your recipes by swapping them with fellow participants. Your experienced chef instructor will test and provide feedback on each student's recipe.
Come prepared to document and refine a family recipe that holds special meaning for you. We will guide you through the recipe writing and testing process, ensuring you can pass it along without errors.
Join us to learn, share, and enjoy a delicious experience with other enthusiastic home cooks! Don’t miss this chance to transform your family recipes into treasured keepsakes for years to come.
