Description
What you'll learn in this dumpling class:
Food in small packages is a worldwide phenomenon. Have fun preparing and devouring these comforting tidbits of all shapes, sizes and ethnicities.
Menu:
- Poland: Pierogi Filled with Potatoes and Roasted Garlic
- Philippines: Lumpia (Crispy Springs Rolls with Pork and Ginger)
- Greece: Spanakopita (Spinach and Feta-Filled Phyllo Pastries)
- Mexico: Banana and Cajeta (Goat Milk Caramel) Empanadas
Skills covered in class:
- Getting familiar with Polish, Filipino, Greek and Mexican ingredients
- Making and rolling out short dough
- Selecting potatoes
- Boiling and sautéing dumplings
- Preparing meat and vegetable fillings
- Working with spring roll wrappers and phyllo dough
- Deep frying

Refund Policy
All classes have a 4 business days cancellation policy, except Culinary Boot Camps which have a 16 business days cancellation policy.
You must email us at [email protected] to cancel an existing reservation, but please note the 15% service fee is non-refundable and non-transferable.
If you cancel within 4 business days, you will not receive a refund or credit for your class, but feel free to send a guest in your place. Our credit card refund policy is 90 days. If your purchase was made prior to that, you will receive an account credit, not a refund to your credit card.
Please note:
- All virtual class sales are final.
- All virtual students will receive a recording of the class within 48 hours of the class.
In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.

Dumplings Around the World
Loved *most* of the Dumplings Around the World class. Everything we cooked was delicious and we had tons of leftovers to take home afterwards. The chef running the class as well as the rest of the staff were excellent as well.
However I have to give the class 2 stars because I did not get what I paid for. The curriculum was to learn 4 different dumplings - pierogi, samosa, potsticker, empanada. However upon arrival at class we were informed that one of the planned dumplings (pierogi) would no longer be taught in class that day due to management's decision to change the class direction without notice (samples were served when we arrived instead of teaching the recipe). I feel bad for the staff who got stuck with delivering the bad news as they were not responsible for the class change & appreciate that they did their best to make rest of class enjoyable.
It would have been so simple for Chopping Block to say "hey, due to time constraints we need to reduce the menu from the planned curriculum. For the inconvenience, here's a discount off your next class or have a glass of wine on us." Instead I got 75% of the class I signed up for and didn't get to make the dumpling I was most excited about learning.
