This course examines how historically significant scents, encompassing material substances, smellscapes, and period perfumes, can be researched, recreated, and preserved as valuable elements of cultural heritage. Participants will develop expertise in identifying, classifying, and briefing historically-inspired scents, known as "Olfactory Reproductions," when partnering with perfumers, heritage specialists, or working as independent scent creators.
