This class takes you through all the sewing basics while creating projects like a pincushion, infinity scarf, and pillowcase. Learn the ins and outs of using a sewing machine from bobbin winding and threading to troubleshooting common issues and keeping a machine clean from a sewing expert. Students can choose to either bring their own sewing machine from home or use a basic sewing machine provided by the Evanston Art Center.

I enjoyed this basic course very much! Teachers are very fun and inspiring. In each class, there is a project and 3 hours passes pretty quickly. There are many students of different skill levels, and it is still low pressure even if you don't know much about sewing. I was very confused to use a sewing machine before taking this class, but became a little more confident. Still a lot to learn :) -
