Understanding Top, Middle & Base Notes in Aromatic Blending is an educational class designed to introduce students to the structure, characteristics, and blending principles of aromatic ingredients, with an emphasis on understanding how different scent notes work together to create balanced, appealing aromatic blends. Students will explore the three primary fragrance categories—top notes, middle notes, and base notes—and learn how each contributes to a blend’s initial aroma, overall character, depth, and lasting impression.
This class is divided into two learning sections. Part 1 consists of a one-hour live virtual stream session featuring instructor-led theoretical instruction, guided discussions, and a question-and-answer session. Students will develop a foundational understanding of aromatic note classification, scent development, fragrance families, and basic blending principles.
Part 2 consists of an online learning experience in which students log into their Peach Academy student account and complete four course modules at their own pace. These modules expand on the concepts introduced during the live session, allowing students to strengthen their knowledge of aromatic note identification, blending structure, scent balance, and blend planning.
By the end of the class, students will have a clearer understanding of how top, middle, and base notes interact and how to apply foundational aromatic blending concepts when planning fragrance compositions for educational, creative, and personal crafting purposes.
This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.
