When photographing lake views within the park, flowering plants around the perimeter, people paddling in colorful boats, the Echo Park location provides numerous subjects, including striking sculptures, palm trees with distinctive shapes, performers practicing skateboard tricks, diverse portrait possibilities, and much more.
Your DPA instructor will present multiple composition methods for transforming basic pictures into powerful visual statements. You'll also receive instruction on Shutter Speed Priority controls using the fountain as a demonstration tool to create varied water effects; options range from "Frozen in Time Clarity" to "Velvety Smooth Impressionistic Flow of Liquid."
Bring your camera or smartphone along with any equipment you can transport conveniently. Make sure your batteries have a complete charge, and your memory storage has available space. Dress appropriately for the current weather conditions, and wear supportive footwear suitable for walking throughout the venue grounds.
Every Composition in the Field session opens with a presentation delivered by one of our experienced instructors, followed by a guided tour through one of several visually compelling destinations (selected from the 20+ communities served by the DPA). Photography subjects encompass street scenes, magnificent building interiors, farmers' market environments, zoo settings, landscape photography, and numerous additional options. The instructional materials include a variety of images created by both students and professional instructors from different locations spanning cities throughout the United States and Canada.
You'll enjoy the experience, develop skills in thoughtful photographic composition and technique, produce more striking images compared to casual snapshots, and establish the foundational knowledge required to enhance your photographic abilities going forward, whether you're documenting travel experiences, capturing moments at special occasions, or photographing events throughout your daily life.
