Emily Gilstrap

Teaches at The Brookline Ballet School

Emily Zimmermann Gilstrap began her training at Professional BalletSchool and The Academy of Ballet in San Francisco. She performed with Peninsula Ballet Theatre and directed a dance program at Palo Alto Family YMCA. She received a B.A. in Anthropology at UC Santa Cruz where she also performed as a featured dancer and assistant choreographer with Cabrillo Stage Musical Theatre, and taught ballet at Western Ballet in Mountain View. 

Emily completed a Masters of Science degree in Archaeology at the University of Sheffield, UK. She recently spent two years as Ballet Mistress and Director of Development with Missouri Contemporary Ballet Company and School. Emily lives in Watertown with her husband and young son and enjoys continuing to share her passion for dance with the community.
