Aleigha Howland

Teaches at Maud Morgan Arts

Aleigha is from Boston and was raised in the south shore and went on to earn her BFA in 2008 from The Art Institute of Boston at Lesley University, majoring in Photography.

Though she majored in Photography, Aleigha extensively explored mediums such as bookmaking, printmaking, painting and ceramics. She has a background in early childhood care and has worked creatively with children in after school programs, summer programs, art center programs, fundraiser and volunteer settings. Aleigha holds Lead Teacher certification from Massachusetts EEC in care for infants through preschool as well as school age qualifications. There is nothing more rewarding for her than the glowing smile on a child’s face when they learn something new or achieve a goal and realize what they are capable of.

Aleigha has personal work on display in multiple exhibitions and has won several awards. Her work is on display in the home of the president of Lesley University and is archived at the Boston Public Library. Though life would be void without producing her own art work, Aleigha’s highest passion lies in creating with children.
