Vanessa Norris

Teaches at Maud Morgan Arts

Vanessa Norris is a ceramic artist who makes functional tableware and often incorporates details visible only upon closer inspection, such as bumps on the lip of a cup or rounded wire protruding from the side of a butter dish. She has moved across the country several times to work for different artists, including production potter Bruce Larrabee in Park City, UT and nationally recognized studio potter Deb Schwartzkopf in Seattle, WA. In addition to assisting and learning from those in her field, Vanessa has instructed courses at MassArt in Boston, Moshier Art Center in Burien, WA, and Indigo Fire in Belmont, MA. Vanessa graduated from Massachusetts College of Art and Design with a BFA in Ceramics in 2016. She is an Artaxis member, has exhibited her pots in many states across the United States, and has been featured twice in the Exposure section of Ceramics Monthly. She currently lives and works in Boston.
