Teaches at School of Fashion Design

Elaina Barisano has enjoyed a diverse fashion and fine art career…diverse, yet always centered around creative problem solving through design. Elaina brings to her classroom a wealth of knowledge and experience in pattern making, technical sketching and fashion illustration, lace motif engineering, leather design, visual merchandising, interior design, design engineer, and fine art. Teaching is Elaina’s first love, and her enthusiasm for her students is contagious. Elaina’s objective as a teacher is ‘to be a guide, not a critic; to be a light, not a judge,’ and her goal for all her students is to become accomplished and confident in their design work in their career. She says, “my greatest joy is to see my students believe in themselves, take chances, take risks and grow to feel what it means to be fully aware, productive, and alive in the moment.”
