Class Description

Description

Humor & Satire Writing is for anyone eager to write for online publications or refine their craft, regardless of where they are in their writing journey. This class blends lecture, workshop, in-class exercises, and discussion, fostering an inclusive space for beginners, seasoned writers, and everyone in between—not just comedians.

We’ll break down the building blocks of impactful humor, analyze what makes a piece of writing so memorable, and practice editing to improve your work. This course reframes the pressure of creating and revising so it feels less daunting and more empowering, encouraging you to write jokes with originality, revise with sustained confidence, and build your author brand.

By the end, you will generate headlines to pitch/apply as a contributor, draft long-form humor pieces for submission, and jumpstart on independent projects.

This class guides you through the writing, revising, and creating process—and it's where your humor journey truly takes off!
