Description

This synthesizes the work of two dynamic teachers - Kristin Linklater and Michael Chekhov - to unite the actor’s body, voice, intellect, and emotional life through imagination to support the creation of a character.

This class builds on Kristin Linklater and Michael Chekhov, emphasizing the profound connection between an actor’s  body and their psychology.  Each session begins with a physical and vocal warm-up, followed by a series of psycho-physical exercises designed to spark your creative spirit, enhance your higher intellect, and foster artistic freedom. You will explore techniques such as psychological gesture, qualities of movement, imaginary body, and more to the creation of a character of your choosing.

Through this process of exploration and application, you’ll discover how your body and voice can work in harmony with your imagination to support the truthful embodiment of a character. The class is designed for those who are already familiar with the Linklater Voice progression and are curious to bring the voice work into character development through imagery. If you are preparing for an upcoming project, performance, or looking to expand your skill set, this class is for you.

Remote Learning

This course is available for "remote" learning and will be available to anyone with access to an internet device with a microphone (this includes most models of computers, tablets). Classes will take place with a "Live" instructor at the date/times listed below.

Upon registration, the instructor will send along additional information about how to log-on and participate in the class.

Refund Policy

  • Enrollment fees for classes and workshops are refundable 2 business days prior to the first class or workshop session. A 5% processing fee will be applied towards refund requests.
  • There are no refunds or credits thereafter, unless the school cancels the class or workshop.

If a studio space is closed due to inclement weather and the closure affects a class or workshop, a refund for that particular session’s prorated cost will be offered, or an alternate meeting date and location will be offered to make up for the missed session. Otherwise, no refunds or credits will be given for any missed class or workshop sessions.

No makeup classes or workshops are offered.

The school reserves the right to change teachers for its classes and workshops at any time and without advance notice.

As fellow professionals and artists, we ask that you try to always arrive on time and ready to work.

In any event where a customer wants to cancel their enrollment and is eligible for a full refund, a 5% processing fee will be deducted from the refund amount.
