This is the ideal starting point for learners with minimal or no previous experience in Spanish language study.

Your first session will introduce essential foundational elements, including pronunciation, alphabet recognition, and critical grammatical concepts such as noun gender (masculine and feminine forms) and number (singular and plural distinctions). During weeks two through five, instruction emphasizes practical sentence construction employing the fundamental verbs ser, estar, and tener, complemented by thematic vocabulary expansion covering adjectives, interrogative structures, dates, numbers, and related essential terms.

Upon completing Spanish 1, you will possess the communicative ability to introduce yourself effectively, inquire about item prices and costs, convey basic personal information, including your place of origin and professional role, describe and locate various people, objects, and places, and articulate foundational descriptive concepts in Spanish.

Important course information:

• Select either printed textbook materials with accompanying audio files (requiring advance pickup) or digital PDF and audio file versions. If you opt for the PDF option, having the ability to print materials independently or using a second electronic device to reference the text during class sessions will enhance your learning experience.
• One day before the class begins, the instructor will deliver your electronic course materials and provide the meeting link for virtual attendance.
• Plan to log into the video conference and join the meeting room five to ten minutes before the scheduled start time to ensure seamless preparation for class commencement.
